Has anyone besides me noticed and/or hated the common practice now for car dealers? You know, the one where they plaster THEIR name on YOUR new car? Did ANYONE give them permission? I mean, it's not their property, they don't ask 'hey, do you mind if we turn your pricey little vehicle into a motorized billboard for us?', they just stick it on there and tough shit to you if you don't like it. And it's not like it's some little thing that comes off easily. It's usually shellacked onto your paint job, and good luck to you to pry it off without damaging the finish on your car. Or even better, one of those metal jobs. I think it's just the biggest load of bullshit that, apparently, most people are willing to put up with. I figure if people went on strike for even one month, refusing to buy any car with the car dealer's emblem tattooed on it, suddenly the practice would stop. If they're going to do it, and use your automobile as free advertising, well... it shouldn't be free. Tell them you'd be happy to leave their name on the car, but since a billboard would cost them, and your car is more effective than a billboard since it actually moves around, you'll expect an appropriate and proportional discount off the sticker price of said car. After all, it's not exactly enhancing the look of your car. No one ever ASKED for one of these things as a fashion statement. They look like hell. Tacky tacky.
Words cannot convey how much I detest these people for effectively vandalizing every new car they sell, and suffering no consequences for it.
